Yea I have not posted in like what, 2 weeks, don't care.
Ok, so first of all it might be late but Spam-a-Lot was great. Worth every penny to go see. Also blackberries are sweet. Got one just a while back (Actually my last post was made with mine) I love having net access 24/7.
Now here is where I shall go crazy for just a bit. I have been thinking about this and just want to throw it out there for anyone that might not have been thinking on it. Gas has been going up constantly with only a few dips here and there. Naturally a lot of people worry about it but its making a lot of people ignore the whole situation. Food jumped us 4% in 2007. The average for the last say 15 years has been 2.5% per year. Suggested thus far for 2008 by the U.S. Department of Agriculture is 4.5%. Its getting worse, not better. Not sure if its true but supposedly Sam's Club is now limiting the amount of rice you can buy per trip. Now I don't think its all connected directly. Gas is going up because of greedy oil companies as I see it. We started using ethanol and all which has a lot more farmers growing corn. Wish means there is less local crops so we have to get that stuff from out of the country. Which of course means higher prices.
Now I will go ahead and state that yes I know I don't really do much to help. I don't have a lot of options though. My wife and I do recycle now. We shoot for a repair rather then replace lifestyle. I now drink from my own coffee cup at work rather then using the Styrofoam ones they have which I also don't like to use since A) they don't exist and B) the info I found out here. I even think I am going to offer to recycle the paper from the office as well. Little things to decrease our waste are good and no do not make me a hippy. Still going to eat the red meat!
That said since I went off topic kinda, I do worry that this recession as its called is going to be a lot worse then people are thinking. I think everyone should be doing some prudent planing for the future. Now not to the extreme of "Money is going to be worthless buy gold coins" or that kind of thing. However you might want to learn a few skills that would help if you have to supplement your food from fishing, hunting, foraging or even farming. Buy a shotgun. Buy some fishing twine and a pole. Invest some of your money into tools (Not power tools), repair books, general knowledge books. If inflation keeps going up which is the better setup. An extra $100 in your account or not having to buy a $2000 refrigerator and being able to just buy a $150 part to fix the one you have? I would rather have the knowledge and tools to save me the money later. Especially if its gets to the point of $400 or more just for a week of groceries for a family of 4.
My recommendations are simple stuff, I am not saying hoard up food but perhaps when you do buy food shoot for stuff with a longer shelf life. Save money where you can. Try to learn skills that will help you save money. Buy a gun or two. Learn how to use them to hunt. IF you can even go as far as to purchases some simple reloading equipment and learn how to reload shells for your guns. Make sure to stock up a little one the needed supplies. If you have a well make sure to have a manual pump installed so if you were to need to ditch your power you could still have water.
Another thing on bills, get rid of what you can. If you have credit cards to pay off. Do so now while its more cost effective. Once you have them paid off don't use em any more. Every little bit you can shave off will help. They to get enough money saved that you could go without work for a few months and still be ok on all your bills. Have a safe too. Don't keep all your money in the bank. If it gets bad enough and to many try to pull out there money the banks will close there doors. Its not going to matter what your statement from you bank says you have, if you cant get it out to pay others then its not worth a damn.
I am going to try to keep coming here and posting different stuff that could be helpful in either recycling or surviving the recession. I am not crazy, I just think we should all be prudent and perhaps plan a little just in case. If nothing else this stuff might help you save a bit of money here and there enough to make the gas prices not bother you as much.

I love work.... 13 - 14 hr days are so great!
Someone, please... shoot me. Don't kill me I mean just a flesh wound so I can go home for a few days ya know.
Going to see spam-a-lot as I type this. Should be good, I loved the movies and skits. My wife is beside me ranting at some "ass-hole bitch" that keeps passing us just to slow down ahead of us. So I decided to make a quick post.
Ok so my friend at http://gtmr.blogspot.com/ had me watch a quick vid on you tube. Needless to say I agree with both the video and my friend. I am not racist nor do I think it is right to do anything to someone just based on race however the system is fucked.
You don't see anyone getting in trouble for calling someone a cracker do ya?!? Yet if you even think the dreaded "N" word society brands you as a racist fuck that should be shot. That is just racism of a different sort.
Just to add, anyone that wants to argue that whites deserve it for what there forefathers did I will bring up this, If we start locking up or punishing anyone who is related to someone that did a crime then there won't be a free person among any of us. Nothing. Not Parents, religion, race, sex, or even upbringing can make the person. We have no excuses and are accountable for our actions.

Babies, I hope I don't eat them.
Ok, my name is Corwin. I am odd I know and if you read this blog you have to know that its going to be odd too. I was going to just do a general intro and all but I have decided to actually hit onto a topic so prepare for a long rant.
I would like for anyone passing by this blog to know, I don’t eat babies. At least I hope not.
If you happen by here (http://www.naturalnews.com/021929.html) then who knows though, and they might even cause cancer. Below are some quotes that make me wonder just how much money the legal system and the FDA in our country get as a payoff from food companies.
“One of the most common tricks is to distribute sugars among many ingredients so that sugars don't appear in the top three. For example, a manufacturer may use a combination of sucrose, high-fructose corn syrup, corn syrup solids, brown sugar, dextrose and other sugar ingredients to make sure none of them are present in large enough quantities to attain a top position on the ingredients list (remember, the ingredients are listed in order of their proportion in the food, with the most common ingredients listed first).”
And they wonder how we Americans manage to get fatter. That aside what happens to someone that has Diabetes and goes into Diabetic shock because a snack company wanted to make some extra money with this false advertising. Companies should not be able to pull this kind of trick. I am sure a lot of people the suffer from Diabetes know to look it over but if just one person was to have complications due to this practice then that is too many. We shouldn’t have to spend 30 minutes examining a products package to figure out how exactly the company is screwing us. Companies should be nice enough to tell us how they are doing it right up front. The mass majority of people aren’t going to look anyways and they won’t loose that much money.
“A third trick involves hiding dangerous ingredients behind innocent-sounding names that fool consumers into thinking they're safe. The highly carcinogenic ingredient sodium nitrite, for example, sounds perfectly innocent, but it is well documented to cause brain tumors, pancreatic cancer, colon cancer and many other cancers (just search Google Scholar for sodium nitrite to see a long list of supporting research, or click here to read NaturalNews articles on sodium nitrite).”
Ok so if all my fishing equipment has messages on them saying “This item contains chemicals known to cause cancer” Why the hell does food get away with not having it? I mean I am still more then likely going to eat it but I would at least like to know I have the chance. Yes I understand anything in large enough quantities is going to be bad for me but given a choice between 2 different bags of chips I really would rather take the one with a 1% less chance of causing cancer wouldn’t you? I know they have to do some testing on some level, how can they get away with this?! So if a companies does not put a label stating that onto it and I get cancer can I sue? Nope cause how am I going to know which product it was? So yay I get cancer and have to mortgage my house to pay for treatment. I really don’t like cake enough for that to be worth it.
“There is no requirement for food ingredients lists to include the names of chemical contaminants, heavy metals, bisphenol-A, PCBs, perchlorate or other toxic substances found in the food. As a result, ingredients lists don't really list what's actually in the food, they only list what the manufacturer wants you to believe is in the food.”
“Food companies have also figured out how to manipulate the serving size of foods in order to make it appear that their products are devoid of harmful ingredients like trans fatty acids. The FDA, you see, created a loophole for reporting trans fatty acids on the label: Any food containing 0.5 grams or less of trans fatty acids per serving is allowed to claim ZERO trans fats on the label. That's FDA logic for you, where 0.5 = 0. But fuzzy math isn't the only game played by the FDA to protect the commercial interests of the industry is claims to regulate.”
Yea I have seen some very amusing serving sizes. I have a pack of 6 crackers that is 3 servings…. I however did not know I was eating all sorts of other goodies. How can this be allowed? I would hope they know what’s going into it. So how can they not put that in the label and to hell with people that argue small quantities! I eat roughly 3 times a day so I am at something like 29,017.5 meals or so. Not even adding in snacks and such. I think even in small amounts some of those chemicals could kill me by now with as much that’s potentially in my system.
I know that this is not the only source of the problem but this inset helping. Potently you have health food out there that is almost as bad as eating a burger from a burger joint. That’s insane. I know that obesity is not just cause by this however this obviously will have an effect. That health bar mom gives her kid having as much sugar as that bowl of sugar coated chocolate breakfast puffs is not doing any good. Money wins out thought so I doubt it will change. Hopefully anyone reading this or http://www.naturalnews.com/021929.html where this info came from might think to look at there nutritional info a bit more closely in the future.
So without taking a huge amount of work to figure out what is really in every thing I buy I guess I really could be eating babies right now. One more thing I have learned about myself today.
